TECcare antimicrobial technology completes viral testing.
Talley Environmental Care Ltd announces the completion of viral testing to Association of Analytical Communities (AOAC) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) testing methods conducted under Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). This testing data will been used to complete the documentation necessary for regulatory submission which will then allow the products to be marketed in the US. The product range is already available throughout Europe.
The viricidal testing of TECcare antimicrobial technology showed that the products were effective against the following viral strains.
Swine Flu (H1N1), Norovirus, Polio Virus, Avian influenza A (H3N3), Avian influenza A (H5N1), Influenza A/PR Virus, Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C, HIV-1, Cytomegalovirus, Hantavirus, Human Coronavirus, Respiratory syncytical virus.
A virus is a microscopic infectious agent that can infect all types of organisms: Viruses spread in many ways. Influenza viruses including swine flu are spread by coughing and sneezing, and others such as norovirus and polio are transmitted by the faecal-oral route, when they contaminate hands, food or water. Others such as hepatitis B can cause life-long or chronic infections.
Director of Business Development Kevin Mearns stated,
“These viral tests are part of an ongoing testing program and combined with the already extensive test data confirms that TECcare antimicrobial technology should play an important role in tackling not only these highly disruptive and potentially deadly viruses but an extensive range of micro-organisms. These unique products with their exceptional efficacy and safety credentials have significant advantages over currently available products”
Talley Environmental Care Limited recently launched the new TECcare™ website www.teccare.com highlighting how its new technology platform can be adapted to meet the ever changing and growing antimicrobial needs of healthcare, industry and consumers by developing highly effective, safe products.
Unlike some products in the market place, the TECcare antimicrobial technologies platform does not contain damaging chemicals and skin irritants such as alcohols, phenols, chlorine and aldehydes. This avoids the serious hazard issue of products like Hydrogen Peroxide, Formaldehyde, Paracetic Acid and Chlorine releasing agents such as bleach, therefore the TECcare product range is well suited for repeated use in a wide range of applications. It is safe and effective as well as being fully biodegradable and environmentally friendly
TECcare Control is a high level disinfectant cleaner that conditions surfaces inhibiting microbial colonisation for a prolonged period of time while killing /destroying micro organisms.
TECcare Ultra is an Ultra High Level surface sterilant that is safe to use on all surfaces. A "true" sporicidal, TECcare Ultra achieves total elimination of spores on a dry surface
TECcare Ultra Fogging (TUF) antimicrobial technology is ideally suited for use in facilities due to its extensive, proven biological efficacy and safety credentials. TUF decontamination can be deployed easily and safely and has proven material compatibility so all surfaces can be decontaminated in situ without the use of hydrogen peroxide vapour and chlorine-based products (including bleach). The fogging technology is available as a purchase or rental option.
